Security                               Terminology Define the following terms: 1.     Authentication – ability to identify who it is a.     ACL – (access control list) is associated w/ a given resource. Describes groups, users, machines and their permissions associated with that particular resource. i.     Token- one time only password key b.     CA- certificate of authority- creates certificates -system or entity trusted to generate and distribute digital certificates. Can be privately used or from a 3rd party e-commerce site. Verifies identity of user. Authentication method. c.     RA- Registration Authority-issues certificates-RA verifies credentials supplied by an agent and then sends the CA an okay to issue a certificate. d.          PKI- Public Key Infrastructure- Policies and behaviors that surround the deployment and management of key pairs. How you issue two keys at one time. e.          Kerberos- Authentication method used by Microsoft. Uses 3 different protocols, listed below      i.     TGT- Ticket granting ticket. Allows you to request resources on the network from servers.      ii.     TGS- Ticket granting server. Accesses a particular network server for tickets.      iii. AS- Authentication Server. Equivalent to a morning check-in at security desk of a hotel. Checks the identity of a server. f.     CHAP- Challenge handshake authentication protocol. Was designed to replace the PAP. Communication between server and client proving identity. i.     MS-CHAP- Microsoft CHAP g.     PAP- Password authentication protocol h.     X.509- digital certificate that uniquely identifies a party. Standard structure of a certificate. i.     KDC- Key distribution center j.     Biometrics- Authentications based on human anatomy. k.     Multifactor- Authentication based on 2 valid authentication methods. l.     Mutual Authentication- Client establishes identity to server. Server provides authentication information to client to ensure that illicit servers cannot masquerade as genuine servers. Both parties have to authenticate. 2.     Encryption- hiding data using algorithms. protection, method of code, algorithms, formulas a.     Asymmetric keys- pair of key values one public and one private. b.     Symmetric keys- single encryption key generated. c.     DES- Data Encryption standard developed by government. d.     Diffie-hellman- encryption algorithm named after its two creators. e.     IPSec- used for encryption of TCP/IP traffic. Method of encrypting any IP transmissions. f.     PGP- Pretty good privacy- mainly used in email less secure than the PKI. g.     RSA- Rivest-Shamir-Adleman- encryption algorithm named after its 3 creators. Using two pair keys. h.     SSL- Secure Socket Loader- used mainly on web servers to transmit securely via HTTPS:// 3.     Network protocols and organization a.     DMZ- Demilitarized zone- Zone used for public access. Used with FTP, web servers and DNS servers. b.     IDS- Intrusion Detection System- 2 types: Active and Passive c.     NAT- Network Address Translation- Appends to your logical port. Protects internal hosts. Used with proxy servers. Translates internal IP to Real IP. Uses unique port table. There is 65,000 ports d.     Tunneling- ability to go to 1 point to another as though you are a single proprietary line.

Beowulf/Grendel Trial or Debate Activity Essay
Two teams will debate the merits of Grendel’s viewpoint. The rest of the class will act as judges and rate the winning team. (ALL students will contribute to the debate by helping to suggest/refine talking points – each group will vote for members to participate in debate). Resolved: Since the world and everything in it is an unplanned accident, existence is meaningless ;the past is irrelevant; nothing matters. For: This team will take the attitude that the proposition is true. They will try to prove it by using the arguments and experiences of Grendel and the dragon. Against: This team will take the attitude that the proposition is false. They will try to prove it by using the arguments of Unferth, Beowulf, the Shaper, Ork, and any other evidence in the story. Rules: 1. No evidence is admissible unless it can be supported by the novel. 2. Each team will have three, two-minute chances to speak. In the first two-minute period they will present their argument. The second two-minute period will be used for rebuttal. In the rebuttal period, a team may argue only points which the other side has presented. The third two-minute period will be a summation (summarize main talking points/close argument). 3. At the close of the debate, the rating will be collected, added, and the results announced. The Pro Life Supporters Believe Abortions - 1602 Words
Abortions is one of the most controversial topics in today s society; however, it s not usually discussed, which makes it hard for people to express their opinions on the topic. Growing up in a Christian family, I was always told that abortions were not a good thing. However, I also grew up being told that god did not want us to judge anyone because that was his duty not ours. So, as I got older and realized I wanted to become a doctor, my views changed on this topic because I now knew I wouldn t be able to tell someone what they could or could not do with their body. I also knew even if abortions are morally wrong in my eyes, it does not mean that they are wrong for everyone because we all have a different life growing up, different†¦show more content†¦This scripture from the Bible is used by so many Pro-life supports because it s is a statement about the capabilities of any human body that god has created, it gives an indication of our value from gods perspective, and it reveals the inestimable value, or worth, of all human life. Pro- life supporters also argue their beliefs using the idea that life starts at the moment of consumption. However, this is a question that can t be answered by science because everyone has a different view as to when life actually begins. Some may believe it was when consumption happened, some believe it is when a baby first kicks, others believe it s when the baby is viable to live outside its mother s womb, this happens to be the most debated in the science/ medical communities because the viability age has changed with the advancement of technology, the pro-choice supporters usually believe that life begins once the baby takes its first breath, which is when it s finally born. Finally, the pro-life supports argue for the decrease or abolishment of abortions because of the danger it puts both the mother and Child in. There are so many dangers that come with abortions; however, the ones pro- life members focus on are elevated risk of death and immediate health risk.
